Q: I’ve uploaded my file but I can’t access the ordering function.
A: You need to upload both files—the image file (.zip or .tif) and the .dim file—to access the ordering function. Simply click Browse to enter the two file names under the Upload your image tab and then click Upload.
Q: I’ve forgotten my User name.
A: Your User name is the e-mail address you indicated when registering.
Q: I’m getting a window with the message "An error occurred". Why is this?
A: This may be for several reasons:
- You stayed connected to the portal for 20 minutes without doing anything. For example, you uploaded your files and specified the projection, but then broke off to do something else and tried to confirm 20 minutes later. For security reasons, the portal closed your session and displayed an error message. In this case, you will have to start again.
- You double-clicked the Upload button.
- You refreshed the page while the files were uploading.
- You navigated away to another page while the files were uploading.
Important: Once you have started uploading, make sure the upload module displays as shown below before trying to do
anything else on screen:
Q: The image I entered for uploading didn’t get through.
A: The portal only accepts level 1A imagery. Check that you didn’t try to upload a level 1B or 2A image.
Q: What browsers does the portal support?
A: Microsoft Internet Explorer 6.0.x and 7x, and Firefox 1.5.x and 2.x.
Q: I can’t produce my scenes. Why is this?
A: If you selected scenes from the Sirius catalogue, this may be because:
- some scenes in the catalogue are not producible; this is the case if the only option available in SAT box is a hyphen (-);
- some scenes have to be shifted along track, so you must first specify an SAT value; if you don’t, the scene can’t be produced.
The two examples described are shown below:
Q: Uploading ZIP files
A: If you have uploaded scenes in a ZIP file, it may contain:
- a single image file in TIFF format (e.g., my_image.tif);
- several folders, sub-folders and files, but only one imagery.tif file.
Q: Can I choose any projection I want?
A: SPOTOrtho Online proposes standard EPSG projections. However, it doesn’t check whether the map projection you selected is suitable for your area of interest. You must therefore take care to specify the right projection: for example, a Lambert France projection won’t work if your area of interest is in Australia.
Q: When will future mosaics be available?
A: Contact us indicating your area of interest and we will inform you as soon as possible.
