The DIMAP data uploading tab is for users who want to orthorectify level 1A SPOT or FORMOSAT-2. Images may be SPOT full scenes or subscenes (½, ¼ or ⅛ scenes).
For uploading to work, files must be in the original form in which they were delivered. Images must not have been pre-processed in any way. The two files you need to upload are the image file and the metadata file; other product files (e.g. quicklook, template, etc.) do not need to be uploaded.
If files were delivered to you in ZIP format, you will first need to extract the METADATA.dim file from the .zip folder before uploading SPOT or FORMOSAT-2 data.
For SPOT data, you can upload the .zip image files or just the IMAGERY.tif file on its own.
For FORMOSAT-2 data, you must upload the original delivered .zip file.
When uploading .dim and .tif files, the file names must be METADATA.dim and IMAGERY.tif. When uploading .zip files, you can choose any file name you want.
The Upload your image tab is for users who want to orthorectify level 1A SPOT or FORMOSAT-2 imagery.
To upload data:
- For SPOT data, click Browse and select the IMAGERY.tif file or IMAGERY.zip file from your folder.
- For FORMOSAT-2 data, click Browse and select the IMAGERY.zip file from your folder.
- Next, click Browse and select the METADATA.dim file in the same way.
- Click Upload to start uploading.
The Upload SPOT image from Sirius Online tab is for users who want to choose an image for orthorectification from the Spot Image catalogue (Sirius Online). This feature is only supported for SPOT imagery for the moment.
The SHAPE file is the file containing the selection of SPOT scenes for orthorectification that you exported from Sirius Online.
To generate this SHAPE file, you must first access Sirius Online at http://sirius.spotimage.fr.
To access the Sirius Online catalogue you must have an account. If you do not yet have an account, open the My account menu and then the Registration sub-menu.
To obtain a SHAPE file from Sirius Online:
- Click the My search tab to search for imagery.
- Select the SPOT scenes you want to orthorectify from your My results page
- To export the scenes selected, click My search, Export results and then SHAPE
Your selection must not include incomplete scenes, which are indicated by a ‘-’ in the SAT column of the results table. To complete a scene, apply the SAT shown. If no SAT is shown, then the scene cannot be completed and you should not select it.
Then save the SHAPE file to a local folder.
Return to the upload SHAPE file page and click Browse in the SPOT Ortho Online window. Then select the SHAPE file you saved previously from your folder.
Click Upload to start uploading.
The .dim or .txt file is uploaded first. A feasibility study is done immediately on the basis of this file. If orthorectification is feasible, the file continues uploading. Once the metadata file has finished uploading, the product is added to the product table (see Product table). The result of the feasibility study is displayed in the table.
If orthorectification is unfeasible, uploading of the .tif or .zip files stops automatically. You will therefore not be able to order an orthorectified product.
Proceed in the same way for each product you wish to order.
Once the SHAPE file has finished uploading, a feasibility study is done on the scenes identified in the file. The study checks feasibility for each scene individually.
